Gardening in July
July is the start of tomato, cucumber and zucchini season in my area. It's also the month that I begin preparing for the Fall garden.

What to plant in July:
The second week of July is the time to start Fall cole crops such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale and kohlrabi. These can be started indoors to be planted out in mid August or direct seeded into the garden. Towards the end of the month root crops such as carrots, beets, parsnips and turnips should be direct seeded.
