Gardening in August
August is usually our warmest, driest month and it looks like we'll be breaking heat records at least one day this week (possibly 105° on Thursday!). And, after the wettest winter in 122 years, we are on track to break our record dry streak of 51 days on August 8th!
August is when I plant most of my Fall/Winter seeds and starts. Beets, cabbages, carrots, green onions, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, peas and spinach will be planted this month for harvesting October-February.
