New Addition on Hen and Drake Farm

There is a newcomer on the farm. Meet Sir Francis Drake.

Sir Francis is a Cayuga duck (a heritage breed). Before the White Peking was introduced in America, the Cayuga was the choice breed for meat. They are a medium, non flying, dual purpose breed, with hens laying around 220 eggs per year.
Sir Francis is a quiet, friendly bird, though he's not the brightest duck in the pond. He spent the first 3 months of his life convinced that he was a chicken. He only recently realized, through intensive "fowl" therapy, that he is, in fact, a duck, and he is now proud of his heritage.
He recently confided that he hopes to become a respected forebear (or as he says, "foreduck") of a long line of "Cayugas of some distinction".
