How to Roast Sunflower Seeds
Now that you've got all those beautiful dried sunflower seeds here is how to roast them.
In a large bowl combine seeds and, for every cup of seeds, 1 quart of water and 1/4 cup salt.
Stir with a clean hand until salt is mostly dissolved and place a plate, upside down, over the seeds and weight down. Let sit for 24 hours
Drain seeds in a colander for a couple hours
After seeds have drained spread them in an even layer on a rimmed baking sheet and sprinkle liberally with salt
Roast in a 250 degree oven for 1-1 1/2 hours. When the seeds are dry and light brown they are done.
Crack, eat and enjoy!
