DIY Hummingbird Nectar



Now that it has turned cooler and the flowers are gone, our resident hummingbirds are coming in droves to our feeder. Here is a simple recipe to keep those flying jewels happy and you enjoying their colors and acrobatics

Hummingbird Nectar

1 cup water

1/4 -1/3 cup granulated sugar

Red food coloring (optional)

Heat water in a liquid measuring cup in the microwave until boiling, 2-3 minutes. Add sugar to the hot water. 



Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Add food coloring if using. 

Cool and pour into hummingbird feeder, hang in a visible place
